The Forgotten Memorial

Jesus Christ was crucified on May 25, AD 31. This date, which in the year 2020 coincided with Memorial Day in the United States, is in fact the memorial of the greatest war sacrifice of all time: Jesus’ death on the cross. This year, Memorial Day should have been observed in remembrance of Christ’s battle with Satan and the freedom from the tyranny of sin that He won for all who believe in His name. But how many people do you think had the cross on their mind on that day? Perhaps the crucifixion in old Jerusalem one thousand nine hundred and eighty-nine years ago can be better understood if the story is contrasted with the modern setting of the death of one named George Floyd.

I do not know the man, except that he was made famous. I know he’s black and that unfortunately gives him a stereotype. Jesus also knew about stereotypes, because he was from Nazareth, a town people expected nothing good to come from. The police tortured George Floyd with a knee on the neck against the hard and rough pavement until he died of asphyxiation. Jesus was likewise tortured on a rough, hard cross until he breathed His last.

Unfortunately, however, what followed “on the third day” after George Floyd’s May 25, 2020 death was not a resurrection but an insurrection. The protestors who have taken up his cause portray a character more reminiscent of someone other than Jesus:

And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection. (Mark 15:7)

Why has the general public been provoked to the point of rioting (insurrection) and even killing[1] in protest of this man’s death, and what does it say—socially and biblically—about the times we live in? The riots broke out in Minneapolis and other locations on May 27, 2020, which was the anniversary of Christ’s resurrection. Do you see the contrast? The followers of Jesus did not march against the State when their Lord was crucified, but instead of remembering the sacrifice of the Prince of Peace on Memorial Day this year, the ostensibly Christian nation rose up to remember “Not Jesus, but George Floyd!”

In place of mass protests, when the Lord of lords was crucified there was deep abiding love that later changed the world in a truly peaceful way. The disciples did not march, loot, attack, or destroy in retaliation, but they peacefully labored for the expansion of the kingdom of the Lord, not shrinking from losing their lives, but only in peace. This was also the example of Martin Luther King Jr., who led peaceful protests founded on the moral high ground that is befitting of every Christian.

Freedom is built on sacrifice and it is right to fight for it, but strategy and peaceful means[2] are important, as is choosing the right allies. The feud between the leftwing and the rightwing in the US, for example, has only resulted in a degradation of morals on both sides, and in the end, nobody wins. Both sides are so estranged from each other that the country splits down the middle and civil war is the inevitable outcome.[3] Where are the leaders who take the higher ground? Where is morality? Where are those who will fearlessly point the finger at the true cause of the nation’s embarrassing defeat? The United States of America has apostatized from God by bringing in the abomination of Sodom and Gomorrah under Obama’s eye, and Trump—with all his spiritual advisors and moral voter base—has done nothing to reverse it. This is why the nation is ruined! And allying with the Christ-denying LGBT hotbed of modern Israel only worsens the sin, contrary to popular Christian belief.

The death of George Floyd represents the end of an era of peaceful protesting in the United States. George Floyd and the riots that are following his death demonstrate that the country has lost its moral sense and succumbed to the anti-Christian influences of the New World Order.

This shows more than ever that we are living in the time of the final harvest, as these upheavals are happening in perfect accordance with the clock of God the Father. May 25, 2020 was the beginning of the third biblical month and marks the transition from the wheat harvest to the grape harvest:

The summit of the clock

An overview of the clock of God is given in the article Time No Longer for those who are not yet familiar with it, but right now we just want to emphasize that we are half-way through the last round of the clock, and this high point has great significance. This is where we find the anniversary of our Lord’s sacrifice, and passing through this topmost segment of the clock is like reaching the summit of a mountain. In this case, it is the mountain of evidence indicating that the end of the world is here and Jesus is coming again. Do you see what is happening in the world and understand how it fulfills Bible prophecy?

The Word of God does not fail, and all the warnings that have been given to America are beginning to fall upon this Protestant nation, which has become apostate and hypocritical. The epicenter of violence in Minneapolis marks the beginning of a real fire and fury[4] that makes Trump’s former threats[5] sound hollower than ever. The breaking point has been reached, and a nation divided cannot stand.

And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. (Mark 3:24)

The preservation of the union that Abraham Lincoln died for in 1865 is ending, and millions are likely to die in the process as the nation sinks like a ship whose hull has been breached. On the one hand, lifting lockdown orders makes people more vulnerable to the invisible enemy and to be taken away by the police state that is now in effect, while on the other hand the civil unrest is such that civilians are senselessly killing one another. There is only one way out: up!

The nation’s internal conflict is clearing the way for China to finish the job of desolation, as indicated by the prophets of the day.[6] Remember George Floyd’s last words: “I can’t breathe.” These have not only become an international taunt coming from China and other non-Christian nations, but they are a stark reminder that shedding and covering the blood of the innocent never passes unnoticed by God.

…and be sure your sin will find you out. (From Numbers 32:23)

The United States was foremost in supporting the cover-up of the death of Jamal Khashoggi to favor a dubious ally, and his last words were exactly the same: “I can’t breathe.”[7] The fact that the US is intervening to stop deliveries of Iranian oil to Venezuela[8] at this time is also significant, as indeed everything that the second plague entails is coming back again, whether it be dictatorship, murder, oil wars, hemorrhaging stock markets, or lack of intelligence again on the part of Donald Trump. With the Obamas speaking up on the topic of George Floyd,[9] perhaps the United States, as the second beast of Revelation 13, will soon have two presidents, like the Vatican, as the first beast of the same chapter, has two popes!

As China quashes the liberty of Hong Kong and Taiwan, and the US feels no greater obligation than to slap sanctions on the injured parties to prevent China from using them to further “rip off” the US,[10] one has to ask what happened to the moral leadership of the world’s leading democracy! What does Liberty’s call mean, “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” when it describes the suffering of her own people under lockdown conditions? When Donald Trump generalizes protesters as “thugs” and coldly lays down the loot-and-shoot martial law,[11] where is the nation’s moral influence?

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. (Matthew 24:12)

The immoral condition of the world that resulted in same-sex marriage laws in 2015 was also accompanied by an inflammatory incident similar to the George Floyd case: Freddie Gray.[12] The miracle as to why racial tensions didn’t boil over at that time under Obama has its explanation in a delay that was ordered according to the prophecy of Revelation 7:

And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. (Revelation 7:1–3)

That delay was purchased through sacrifice, similarly to how the peaceful protesting of Martin Luther King Jr. also extended the tranquility of the nation, but now the four angels are letting the winds of strife loose—and the gusts are coming very close together. Thus, according to the Bible, the end of this world is at hand, and it is high time to repent and prepare to lay everything on the altar. Although it is noble and right to care for nature, it is not nature who we are in trouble with—like Pope Francis says[13]—but nature’s Creator! He still holds the world in His hand, and we must seek the higher ground of His moral law.

In the next article, the topics covered here will be set in the context of Revelation 11, and you will begin to understand the deep truths and abiding faith that can anchor you through the rest of the present storm. Like the response of Martin Luther King Jr.’s movement, it’s time to “take to the [virtual] pews” to strengthen your hold on God, and know where His battle lines are drawn, so you can stand peacefully and confidently, whether in life or death.

Don’t let the apparent easing of the coronavirus crisis fool you—the “good crisis” didn’t go to waste,[14] and the world will never be the same as it was before. The clock (pictured above) shows that we are halfway through the crisis, counting from the Saiph point when the coronavirus was announced to be airborne on January 20, 2020 and running counterclockwise. The first wave is over, but the second wave is on the doorstep, and it will be much worse. The present calm is only the eye of the storm,[15] and the worst is yet to come.[16] So brace yourself: behind the mask of the next virus, how many more people’s last words will be “I can’t breathe”?
